The Lucky Tree

We got this tree as a gift from someone. I guess it's a group of three saplings made to grow in this manner with their shoots braided like a maiden's hair . Does anyone know the name of this tree? The leaves seem like those of the Alstonia Scholaris (the ancient paala tree on which dwells the yakshi!).

I looked up the braided Schefflera Plant which resembles your tree with the braided trunk like yours. This tree is also called the money tree and is supposed to bring good fortune and wealth to those who plant it. Maybe someone else will know this plant that grows into a larger tree and can tell you more.

I also found another one called braided Arboricola which also resembles your tree a little.

Hope this is of help in your hunt for the proper name of your tree. .

I can't help on that tree but I want to tell you that some one loves you dear to give you such a beautiful gift.

BTW. It is old story that Yakshi's reside only in 'Palaa' trees. Now they are everwhere...even on 'communist Pacha's'
